About me
Jagadish studied rural development at Karnataka State Open University, and his primary interest is in wildlife conservation and tribal welfare. As a volunteer, he worked for the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and Environment (ATREE). With the Center for Wildlife Studies, Karnataka Forest Department, he participated in a ‘Tiger Distribution Survey,’ ‘Elephant Census’ and ‘Elephant Habitat Usage Survey’ in the rainforests of the Western Ghats and Bannerghatta National Park.
In addition to his wildlife work, he has worked with street children as a volunteer in the Don Bosco Centre for Rehabilitation. There he assisted in conducting summer camp activities for children. He currently works as a school coordinator for the ‘Akshara Foundation,’ where he is in charge of implementing education programs in government primary schools. Additionally, he was involved as social worker for ‘Shishu Mandir,’ where he coordinated women’s self-help groups. In his spare time, Jagadish likes to go trekking and bird watching, and he also enjoys reading books on wildlife conservation written by Dr. Ullas Karanth and K.M. Chinappa.
